As a Social Purpose Corporation, our legal structure formally commits us to a public benefit alongside our commercial work: building language access capacity in the Northern California communities we serve. That commitment is not a side project layered onto the business. It is part of how the company is built, reflected in who we hire, how we train, and where we choose to grow next.
Our certified practice centers on Spanish, and we are precise about which credential applies where: a California Certified Court Interpreter credential governs courtroom and law-office work, an NBCMI Medical-Legal credential governs QME, AME, and IME evaluations, and conference-level simultaneous interpretation is reserved for multi-party proceedings and government bodies where a pause in the record isn't an option. Born of Necessity
Paradise, California is a name most of the country came to know through the Camp Fire, the 2018 wildfire that displaced the town and exposed, in the sharpest possible terms, how quickly language access becomes a matter of safety rather than convenience when a community is in crisis.
That need did not end once the immediate emergency passed. It shaped the standard we hold ourselves to now: certified, accountable, and ready before the moment arrives, not after. It is also the reason our forward-looking work, including the CalSafe Bilingual Workforce Initiative, is built around emergency and disaster-recovery language access specifically, not as an afterthought to our certified practice, but as an extension of it.
Our Standard
Every engagement, whether a courtroom, a medical-legal evaluation, or a conference floor, is governed by the same three commitments: accuracy, confidentiality, and accountability. These are not slogans. They are the operating standard detailed in full on our Standard of Conduct, and the reason our credentials are scoped precisely to what each one actually covers: nothing implied, nothing overstated.

Our Vision
Our certified practice exists today. Our vision is what it grows into: a nonprofit initiative that mentors and certifies the next generation of bilingual interpreters, so that every California county has trained language access ready before, not after, the moment it's needed most.
The CalSafe Bilingual Workforce Initiative
As our practice grows, we are developing a nonprofit initiative to mentor and certify the next generation of young bilingual interpreters, building a standing pool of trained interpreters in every California county, ready for utility, vegetation-management, and emergency-response needs.
This is not active yet. It is where the next chapter of this work is headed, and it grows directly out of the certified standard we already hold ourselves to in the courtroom, the medical-legal exam room, and the conference floor.
Language Access Is Part of Emergency Readiness
- Wildfire evacuation orders, shelter information, and recovery resources have to reach limited-English-proficient residents in real time, not after the fact.
- Utility and vegetation-management coordination, permitting, safety briefings, and community meetings, depends on the same certified accuracy we bring to a courtroom.
- A trained, credentialed interpreter pipeline takes years to build. Waiting until the next emergency to start is the one approach that doesn't work.
